Despite the stress of the last two weeks here in Christchurch, the Humphries Family have reason for celebration.
They received and email on Tuesday from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Wellington.
The email was to say that a work of art that Francesca had done was given a bronze award at the
41st International School Children’s Art Exhibition in Taiwan. Her print called Crazy Birds will be on display in the Nan-Hai Gallery of
National Taiwan Arts Education Center Taipei, Taiwan from Aug. 26 ~ Sep. 19, 2010.
The more than 30,000 entries from 49 countries in 2010 and the entries were judged by Chinese artists, educators, psychologists, and art educators from the Republic of China.
The exhibition in it’s 41st year and is organised by The Association for Education through Art, Republic of China and the Association of Formative Art Education for the Republic of China to promote mutual understanding and friendship among the young generation of the world through the exchange of children’s art work.
Francesca was also awarded a Bronze for her painting in 2009 called “Boat on the Bay”
